Do you need the perfect workout routine to get results?
The equipment you use doesn’t matter.
I will always love the simplicity of the barbell. You can add any size plates all the way down to 1/4 of a pound, making it easy to get stronger.
In two decades of training, I have tried many different types of equipment, routines, plans, exercises.. I’ve learned the benefits of each one by trying them out and paying attention to my own results.
When I started coaching I began to implement what I’ve learned and also experimented to find new ways to get better results for clients.
What I’ve learned is that there is no perfect routine or piece of equipment for everyone.
Many trainers and coaches have their way, and that’s the end of it. I get it. They truly believe their method is best and they have the results to back it up.
Not everyone wants to train with a barbell or kettlebells or machines or calisthenics or cardio etc..
The most important thing to keep in mind is your own goal. How fast do you want to achieve it? What kind of workout will you actually DO long-term?
There’s nothing in the workout bible that says you ABSOLUTELY MUST use this piece of equipment or this workout routine.
If you are a beginner, sure it helps speed up the process when you follow a proven plan. Like my LEVEL-UP 45 program.
Having a solid program will help you avoid mistakes, stay on track, and have a clear focus for what to do in your training each week.
BUT, it’s not essential.
What did guys do before the age of the internet?
Before there were muscle magazines and training programs?
How did guys get strong and fit way back then?
They figured it out on their own. Trial and error.
Take notes. Try things out and see what works, what doesn’t..
Some of the best months I ever had in training came from my own programming. What I learned from taking everything I had learned and putting it into practice.
Implementing knowledge and experience into my own training style.
It’s been a rewarding experience.
A journey anyone can go through.
You might not be patient enough. It does take time.
If you want to get from point A to point B much faster, then get a coach or find a good program that will get you there.
I recommend (shameless plug) my own customized programming. CLICK HERE FOR YOUR OWN PROGRAM
No matter how you get there, you have to know WHERE you want to go.
Make sure you know that. If you don’t, then that should be your priority number 1.
Then get to work.
Let no one stop you from becoming the strongest version of yourself.
