Are you ready?
I only want people here who want to be here. The same goes for my email newsletter and any other platforms I use.
If you're still here that tells me you are interested in improving your life. You are serious about it. You might not be ready to jump all the way in but the desire is there in some form. That's where it's at.
Even if you just read these messages and don't take action, there is something going on there.. you are absorbing the info over time. Sometimes that's all a human needs. To be exposed to something to spark a change. And some folks are ready right now, whether that means a personalized program or some guidance on a routine.
One thing about being "ready" is you can't force it. You can take action when you aren't ready, for sure. I've done this many times. BUT you may still not feel ready. After a few weeks, that may change. Or you may fall off. There are many factors beneath the surface that are going on that really take some deep consideration to get to the bottom of it.
So without making this email super long, the topic I wanted to write about is my workouts and how I get asked often what my program looks like.
I don't mind talking about it at all. The only trouble is when people want to fit their own goals into someone else's personalized routine. It is far from optimal.
One thing I will say is that I have worked with so many programs, styles of training, from old school bodybuilding to straight up strength training to powerlifting, using strongman implements, all bodyweight workouts, calisthenics, odd object training with sandbags, stones, logs, running, swimming, biking, rucking, you name it.. and from all that experience I can help you wherever you are in your own personal journey of fitness or strength or whatever you want to call it.
A quick example of my training today was two short workouts- one was between clients for five minutes of jump rope. 1 minute skipping, 15 seconds rest and repeat.
The second short workout was 20 minutes of bodyweight circuits in my backyard. A variation of pushups, squats and an upper back movement or isometrics for 20 minutes non-stop.
I am liking the short workouts more and more lately as I find breaking up the work suits my life right now. I feel more energized, less fatigued and it gets me moving more often when split up that way. Its's something that has sort of evolved over the past few years since I cancelled my gym membership a few years back.
I have all kinds of workouts,, some with free weights, some at a playground, with monkey bars, stones, steps, hills, sleds, or just bodyweight. I use anything and everything and I train in an almost exclusively intuitive manner.
