Why you should define what a STRONG Life Means to You

Are you strong enough to handle everything life throws at you?

I never though I’d hurt my back.

Boy, was I wrong.

About many things, but specifically about hurting my back.

I'm not going to get into all the details but suffice to say, I thought I was invincible and I had a combination of factors all coming together (car accident/moving a ton of furniture, bad form on barbell rows AFTER that)

My back wasn't strong enough to handle all that within that period of time.

But enough about me, this is about you and how strong you need to be...

In this post, we are going to look at why it’s important to define what strength means to you.

If you are like me, you have encountered a situation where you weren’t strong enough.

This may have led to an injury, like it did for me.

How did you respond?

There’s really only two options: get stronger/remain weak.

I’ve done both.

Let’s focus on getting stronger.

What does that mean to you?

For our purposes here, let’s stick with the situation where you weren’t strong enough.

Maybe you weren’t strong enough to push your car out of the snow.

You were embarrassed.

If you ever get the chance again, you WILL be strong enough to move it.

But how should you go about getting this strength?

The best method for getting stronger is with a basic barbell program that uses progressive overload.

Add weight to the barbell over a few months, gain muscular bodyweight. This process will transform you into a stronger, more resilient person.

After a few months you can add some sled pushes and pulling.

You will be ready to attack the challenge of pushing a car that is stuck in the snow.

In this example, a strong life meant being able to push the car out of the snow.

No matter what situation you find yourself in, if you are not strong enough then it’s time to take action.

Only YOU can determine what that is. Be honest with yourself.

Getting stronger has huge benefits for every area of your life. The strength you gain physically will also improve the mental side.

You are more confident in yourself because you can tackle more of the physical tasks in life.

Don’t overlook this aspect like so many people do.
