FIND a way
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”- Bruce Lee
Today my schedule was all over the place. No big chunk of time for my workout. My solution? 20 minutes of sled dragging.
When you can’t FIND the time to train, you need to make time any way you can.
If you don’t have an hour, maybe you have thirty minutes? I can almost guarantee you if we sat down and got real detailed with your daily schedule, we could find thirty minutes.
What’s the priority?
Let’s just say you are the busiest person on the planet who does not have thirty minutes for a workout. How about 10-15 minutes? Yes?
OK, we can work with that.
At one point in my life, I had very limited time to get to a gym. Only once or twice a week.
What did I do?
Mini-workouts.
You can get in a good amount of work in 10-20 minutes. Don’t believe me?
Do as many sets/reps of pushups, squats and jumping jacks in 15 minutes without stopping.
Have you tried that?
Is it ideal?
Who cares?! If you aren’t able to get to a gym to work on your health and fitness for an hour a few times a week we need to just get you some quick workouts and forget about what men’s health says is optimal.
Speaking of Men’s health or any other fitness magazine.. remember they make HUGE money from marketing and supplements not from giving you the truth.
The truth that you don’t need any fancy equipment or program, nor do you need any expensive supplements, pills or potions.
No magazine can write about the basics every month and eating solid nutrition with whole foods. People would get bored and sales would drop. That’s not a sustainable business model..
Back to my point about FINDING a way.
Today I will do a few separate mini-workouts throughout the day. This morning was the non-stop sled-dragging challenge.
Later today I will do some bodyweight circuits at home on the floor and take a quick walk.
Total workout time will be about one hour, including the walk.
Sometimes you need to sacrifice to get what you want.
To get in these quick mini-workouts you may gave to skip happy hour, watching netflix, taking a full hour lunch break.
No one said it’s easy. I sure won’t tell you that. There are days I question WHY I have to do these workouts.. can’t I just take it easy?
Then I think about my purpose. The mission. Who I want to be and how I want to live.
Those are choices you have to make. No one can force them on you or motivate you when you are feeling tired, sluggish, sore, sick, stressed-out, burned out, bored, lazy..etc..
FIND a way.
Even if it’s ONLY ten or fifteen minutes. You can get plenty done in a few mini-workouts each day.
Think outside the box. It’s the BEST place to be. Be your own man/woman. Create your own adventure. Be the rebel the world NEEDS.
GO.
