Strength Essentials 716 Thoughts
It’s been awhile since I wrote a blog post on this site. For various reasons, I took some time away from posting on this page and also writing daily emails. As I logged on here today I noticed my last post is from February 2019.
This is longer than I realized. 2019 was the most challenging year of my life. For many folks, 2020 was the most difficult. I won’t go into all the details of those years here. I am focused on today and tomorrow.
With Strength Essentials I have tried to help people get stronger and better equipped to handle whatever life may throw your way. Strength in body and mind. To be resilient and able to overcome any new challenge. I’ve been training clients in person for years and I continue to do so. From my experience in training I have learned much that I feel is valuable to you.
I have begun writing a new book that will go in depth into everything I’ve learned as it relates to strength, fitness, conditioning, mindset and health.
This book is going to be unlike anything the world has seen. That’s the only way I can describe it right now. With everything I do. I aim to be true to myself and to follow my instinct. It is the only way for me.
This book will be unique in many ways, some of which I can’t even see just yet. It will come together as my other creative projects have. In its own way, on its own time.
With that said, I have been training daily. That has continued since the last time I posted here but the way in which I train is different.
I’m always shifting, evolving, trying new things, experimenting, paying attention, taking notes, observing, re-assessing what is working and what isn’t. Finding holes in my program. What needs more attention, where are my weaknesses etc..
I cancelled my gym membership awhile back and I no longer use most of the equipment you’d find in a gym.
Part of me likes to share my own training to give you options and ideas. Often I get asked what I do so I have given sneak peaks into my own workouts and routines over the years.
I wonder now if that’s necessary or desirable. I’m not entirely sure yet but I will think it through.
After writing online for a good part of a decade I have little interest in writing in the ways that most others do. I know the ways you are supposed to write online for maximum engagement, to get a certain response, to make more sales etc.. but all that feels empty to me and always has.
In every area of my life, I have to do things my way or I feel nauseous. It’s just the way I am and have always been. So as I write this post knowing it’s rambling and doesn’t have a nice title or a list post with the top 3 this or that, I laugh to myself and know that the only way I can do this is to be authentic to my own vision and to you, the reader.
For now, this feels like the way. To simply show up and let the words come to the page as they see fit.
In the meantime, I have some ideas that I will be sharing in the coming days. I am going to be putting more time into this blog and the email newsletter. What direction it’s headed, I’m not entirely sure. But part of the excitement for me is not knowing and following the path anyway. I feel compelled to write so that’s what I’m going to do.
I have been creating in other ways over the past two years. I’ve written a few poetry books and I’ve painted a ton of abstract art. But now, I feel a strong urge to write here on this blog and see where it goes.
I know there are people who need help and I have insights to share that may offer a way for some folks. That’s all I can do. Open the door. Some will walk through and some won’t. Either way is fine. I do what I am called to do and let the rest sort itself out.
One question I have for you is, are you in better shape now than you were 2 years ago? Are you stronger? In better condition? I am interested to know as I have found most everyone I’ve talked with recently is not in better shape than they were a year or two ago.
Most people have put on extra weight and have fallen off in many ways. There’s always tomorrow.. but why not start today?
Talk soon.
