Why people don't want you to change

Check it out- you decide it’s time to make BIG changes in your life.

You write it down in your notebook (smart idea btw) and you tell some people to make your goal REAL.

Getting the idea out into the world for others to hear will give you accountability, right?

In THEORY, yes.

If you know me, you know that I stress the importance of accountability.

Here’s the catch- most people DO NOT WANT YOU TO CHANGE.

Why?

They are friends and family, they care about you.

That may be true. (hopefully it is)

But here’s the deal- you telling people you are going to change your life makes them uncomfortable.

They may “want the best for you” but in reality they want the best for you in their own mind. Whatever image they have of you, they prefer that you keep it right where it is.

If you change, that means they may feel something they don’t like. It could be fear that you will now be “better” than they are.. or it could be jealousy.. or pressure to change their own life because you showed them it’s possible

Truth be told, that’s just human nature. It doesn’t mean you have to get rid of all your friends, and tell your family to get lost!

Yes, sometimes you need to cut people OUT of your life. They are vampires and drain your energy, bringing you down with them.

Get rid of all negative vampires as quickly as you can.

Life is too short to be surrounded by that junk.

Summary

When you want to make a BIG change in your life, accept that people will not like it.

They will resist it. Most people don’t want to see you grow too far ahead of them. It’s not about you, it’s truly about what’s inside of their minds and hearts.

If something is calling you, GO FOR IT. Never let an outside voice dampen your spirit.

You are given these “intuitions” for a reason.

Listen to your inner voice guiding you to become the strongest version of yourself.
