You’ve tried all kinds of diets.
Some worked for a little while and others were a complete waste of time.
It’s frustrating. And it seems like that’s just the way it’s gonna be forever.
But what if I told you there was a simple way to discover which diet plan is PERFECT for you. You’d probably think I’m full of it.
I know I would too.
But hear me out and I’ll tell you how to choose your optimal diet in a minute.
I was about 25 years old when I found the first diet that truly worked for me.
At the time I was a busy single dad working three jobs and had minimal time to cook.
Before I found this diet, I had been eating OK but far from optimal.
This diet was so simple and easy to implement that I got started with it and found success very quickly.
I remember feeling the sides of my stomach getting tighter. That was an area I had too much bodyfat.
Fast-forward a few months and I was as lean as I’d ever been in my adult life but with more muscle than ever.
What kind of magic diet was it?
It was simple. Eat 3-4 meals per day. Each meal is protein with veggies and sometimes berries. Post workout meals had protein and carbs. That’s it.
But I still tried many other diets in the fifteen years since.
So, what’s this have to do with you?
Glad you asked.
3 Steps to finally choose the right diet for you
Find a diet you believe in.
With a new fad diet coming out almost every month, it can be hard to sort through all the BS. But you know when you read about a plan that just makes sense.
Something about it speaks to you. Maybe you connect with the person marketing the diet or you like the concept behind it.
You want to believe it can work for you AND see yourself doing it long-term.
The reason why you believe in it does not matter. Just go with your instinct. (and don’t tell me your instinct tells you to eat pizza and cookies and drink beer)
Paleo diet makes sense? You believe in it? Good. That’s step 1.
2. Do the diet EXACTLY as outlined for 30 days
All too often people quit a diet or workout plan without giving it time to work. You need to stick to the program AT LEAST 30 days to see true results.
If you want to be free from the yo-yo dieting club, you need to be diligent about following the diet exactly as outlined for at least a month.
If you need to make substitutions due to food allergies or other issues, by all means do so. But try to follow the plan as closely as you can.
DO NOT mix and match additional diets. Do ONE at a time. You will never know what is optimal if you keep dipping your toes into multiple diets at once.
3. Take notes
From the very first day to the final meal of your 30 day challenge (or longer), be sure to track everything.
The absolute BEST way to learn what diet is ideal for your body, your life, your lifestyle is to be aware of what foods DO to your body.
Write down the foods, how much, how you cooked them, how you felt an hour after eating, if you had digestions problems, gas, etc..
More detail is better here.
You want to know precisely what is and isn’t going to work for your body.
Finding the optimal nutrition plan is all about your belief in the diet, following the plan exactly as written AND tracking your results.
Once you go through the 3 steps, you have a few options.
If you like the plan, stick with it! Make any tweaks you want and keep the foundation of the program intact.
Or if you can’t see yourself continuing with the diet long-term, you can go back to step one.
The difference now is you acquired valuable information that will help you find the optimal diet faster.
You know what worked and what didn’t. Now you just need to make subtle adjustments to get it right.
Soon enough you will be FREE from the yo-yo dieting and frustration that comes with gaining weight, losing it and gaining it all back again and then some.
