We NEED Resistance to Get STRONGER

Just now I had a choice.

Lay down and take a nap.

Or write this blog post.

Last night I didn't sleep well.

I have some weird soreness in my mid-back from yard-work...

I'll be headed back to the studio to train my pm clients in a few hours..

There are plenty of reasons to choose the nap.

BUT I know that I NEED to win that mental battle, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem..

If you let yourself go easy once, it makes the next time even easier.. it's snowballs into a negative chain reaction of weakness.

Just what I DO NOT WANT.

We NEED the resistance.

Those choices.

The moment when we can take the easy route..

No one will notice..

It's fine, I deserve it.. I need to relax..

This isn't about going balls-to-the-wall all day/every day and getting burned out and injured.

You DO need rest and recovery.

But from my experience in this day and age, most of us need to work harder.

Most of us need to get stronger.

We need the resistance in the form of weights, waking up early, walking the extra mile, doing the hard things that NEED to be done.. BEFORE we take it easy..

Our natural tendency is to seek what's easy, comfortable.

That's why I believe I need to write when I'd rather take a nap.

Get up before the alarm goes off to journal or meditate or walk, prep meals, work out..

To take a walk on lunch instead of using the entire hour to eat and veg out.

When you overcome resistance each day, you build mental strength and resilience.

This is a great way to become more confident.

You are a man of integrity.

Set goals, no matter how small..

It could be to walk every day for twenty minutes.

When you stick to it, that builds self-confidence.

Belief in yourself gives you great power and POTENTIAL.

Small steps lead to BIG results.

What can you do TODAY that will build your confidence?

Think about what you know you should do but you aren't doing... why?

Decide that you WILL do it.

That moment will come when you are faced with a choice.

The power is in your hands.

Overcome the weakness of mind that prefers to be safe and lazy and comfortable and fears change, rejection and the possibility of "failure"..

There is no failure, if you keep going. You learn from the results and evolve.

If you are reading this, you know that strength is important.

BELIEVE that you CAN overcome any resistance that comes your way.

Each moment you DECIDE you will do what is necessary to grow in physical AND mental strength.

Now that I have completed this blog post I can look back today and KNOW that I punched weakness in the face... I could have taken the easy route and did it "later"... or maybe not at all..

Instead I made a breakthrough. It doesn't matter how insignificant it MAY SEEM to you or anyone else.. remember there is great POWER in these small action steps each and every day.

Go be strong. The world needs you.
