When is the last time you took a walk outside?
Walking from your parking space to your cubicle does not count, sorry.
This post was inspired by an article by Ramsay from BLOG TYRANT.
His post got me thinking about the different times in my life where going for a walk outside was crucial to my physical AND mental well-being.
Also, I thought I'd do something different and put up some pictures I've taken while walking outdoors.
Walking Outside Helped me the MOST
While I was working in an office 40 hours a week
When I went through a rough patch and thought my whole world was falling apart
As I started my new life as an entrepreneur
With a crazy energetic yellow lab puppy
I'm sure you know the benefits of walking, so I won't bore you with the usual stuff.
What I want to convey to you is how important it is to get away from the noise of the world.
Away from the computer screen. The phone. The emails and spreadsheets.
You may not like going for walks.
Maybe you "have no time"..
Just go for for 10 minutes a day.
It's amazing how much better you will feel.
Ten minutes might not seem like much but there's some recent evidence that suggests taking three short walks each day is even better for you than one long walk.
Honestly, the greatest benefit that I've experience is the creativity.
Nothing opens my mind up like a good brisk walk in the woods, or by water.
Whether you work an office job or at home, you NEED to get outside and walk!
If you have a Labrador retriever then you'll have even more reason to get outside and walk, multiple times each day.
My BIG THREE for greater physical and mental strength and health are
- Strength Training
- Eating nutritious foods
- Daily walks
Get those three in order and you will improve your physical existence IMMENSELY.
