When is the last time you stepped outside your comfort zone?
Not just a little bit where you barely stick your toes in the cold water… I’m talking about diving all the way in-100%.
That feeling where you are nervous, anxious and unsure what the outcome will be?
You aren’t sure what other people will say or think.. but you DO IT anyway.
How about in your training?
What have you done lately that has been outside your comfort zone?
It could be anything. There’s no limits or judgment.
How about one final set of as many reps as possible?
Or a hard conditioning session that left you feeling like you might collapse?
Maybe you did a new exercise variation that you never tried before.
For each of these, you left your comfort zone and entered another zone.. uncomfortable.
That’s where the big results are.
Yes, you need to be consistent over time and sustain your training for long-term progress but you also need to push yourself very very hard every once in awhile.
Some folks crave it.
If you haven’t really pushed to the extreme lately, it may be time you do.
Nothing fancy required.
You could even do it at home with bodyweight movements.
A non-stop bodyweight circuit for 10-15 minutes is a great way to get outside your comfort zone.
This morning I did a light sled workout for long non-stop rounds, followed by bodyweight circuits without stopping to rest.
That kind of workout will test you physically, and even more MENTALLY.
